Blue Star Mothers Flag Flies
Northern Kentucky Chapter 5 Blue Star Mothers
Flag Flies At Florence Government Center
Another dream of the Northern Kentucky Chapter 5 Blue Star Mothers of America came true today! Their flag now flies with the Boone County Rotary flag at the Florence Government Center. This has been a dream of our President, Lorene Friedman, for several years now and she has worked tirelessly, sometimes fanatically to make that dream come true!!
She worked to sell the dream to our association, the Boone County Rotary and H.B Deatherage, the founder of the Florence Military Memorial at the Florence, KY government center. She wanted Memorial Day, 2011 to be the first time the flag would fly, but Mother Nature dealt some nasty blows to the flag pole and it just couldn’t happen on that day.
We want to give our sincere thanks to the Rotary, H.B. and Tom Lape for getting it up and flying today. Take a look at the terrific pictures Vanessa Lenear took of the flag being raised and flying high!!
